This scene was one of the most magical moments I've witnessed in my photographic career!  We were moving a group of wild horses 60 miles to a ranch in the White Mountains of Arizona. These corrals were situated every 15 miles, and this was our second stop on the drive; camping here for the evening. Thirty miles riding a 29 year old horse, who only trotted, was one major pain in the @$$!  But worth the pain and discomfort to obtain this award winning image! A Rustler's Moon is a crescent moon: lighting the high plain enough to see what can be stolen, yet not bright enough to see who's doing the stealing!!
